Greens senator calls on AFL to drop ‘slur merchant’ Snoop Dogg from grand final show

In case you missed it, Australian Greens senator Sarah Hanson-Young has called on the AFL to drop US rapper Snoop Dogg as its headline performer for its upcoming grand final, saying it should be backing Australian talent instead of a “slur merchant”.

Hanson-Young said the “irony was not lost” on many AFL fans after its suspension of Adelaide Crows Izak Rankine for using a homophobic slur, “as he should have been”, she said.
