From the age of just four, Professor Anthony Weiss AM FAA FTSE FAHMS knew he was destined to be a scientist.

Today, as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science, he is internationally recognised for his groundbreaking work in biomedical engineering at Sydney University

Professor Weiss’s pioneering research into elastin biomaterials has transformed the field of tissue engineering, leading to new advances in wound healing, organ repair, and regenerative medicine worldwide.

As the founder of Elastagen and recipient of the Prime Minister’s Prize for Innovation, his contributions are not only advancing science but also improving lives around the globe.
