During the two years since the October 7 attacks, the number of Palestinians in Israeli prisons and detention centres has doubled. More than 3,500 are being held without charge under what’s called administrative detention.
Palestinian groups say hundreds of minors and dozens of women are among those being held by Israeli authorities in facilities one respected Israeli rights group B’Tselem has labelled “a network of torture camps”.
When questioned about the treatment of Palestinians inside its prisons and detention centres, an Israeli government spokesperson said it “adheres to all international law”.
