Aviation experts are recommending customers lock in airfares “as soon as practical”, with prices expected to rise over the coming months.
As customers face price rises at the petrol pumps, airlines say jet fuel is also getting more expensive.
Jet fuel has spiked to between $US150 to $US200 per barrel in recent days, up from about $US85 to $US90 per barrel before the war.
Airlines say this is a cost they need to account for in ticket prices.
