Albanese visits major oil hub to lock in fuel deal

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has made a high-stakes visit to Singapore to lock in a deal over Australia’s fuel supplies as the war in the Middle East continues to wreak havoc on global shipping.

As part of his trip, Albanese has made a rare visit to Jurong Island, one of the world’s largest oil hubs.

But the island has been refining less oil in recent months, and locals say they’ve noticed a drop off in the number of ships from the Middle East passing through the area.
