Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, Eddie Fakhri said that when he gets to look after his six-month-old granddaughter, his son asks that he only allow her to have 15 minutes of screen time.
The 53-year-old explained that when he was younger he’d watch the movie Grease over and over, and his own son watched a lot of television as well.
“When we were younger, that’s all we knew. But it’s just changed completely.”
“I don’t think the younger generation will ever understand the older generation’s point of view.”
Although Eddie said he was well aware parkings kids in front of a phone for hours on end can be bad, he questioned whether simply having old-school films playing in the background could really be harmful.
Government guidelines introduced in 2018 stated that kids under two should have no screen time, while kids between two and five should have no more than an hour.
