In this Sydney-based barber shop, there’s only one football club everyone wants to talk about — and one player they can’t stop mentioning.
Liverpool player and Egypt captain Mohamed Salah could be the biggest obstacle to Australia’s FIFA World Cup dreams when the Socceroos face Egypt on Saturday.
Barber Kleames Dawod – a Liverpool and Salah superfan – will have his allegiance put to the test, but says the match is a win-win situation.
“If Socceroos win, we celebrate; if Egypt win, we celebrate,” he said.
Salah is Egypt’s all-time top goalscorer at the FIFA World Cup, with three goals.
And while many Australian fans have been hoping he won’t take the field, Socceroos defender Alessandro Circati says he is relishing the opportunity to face Salah.
