Sevenâs parent company, Southern Cross Media (SCM), revealed that it would be cutting 250 to 300 people from the business before the end of the month in a bid to save $30 million.
In a letter to staff explaining the cuts, Southern Cross Mediaâs CEO Rohan Lund said that âWe have no choice but to reset the cost base.â
âWe will be saying goodbye to many smart, talented, and hard-working colleagues.â
After working at Seven for 6 years, Sydney journalist Inga Neilsen said in a post to Instagram, âLast week, I accepted a redundancy from 7NEWS.â
âFor now, itâs time to put down the microphone and try something new.â
