Canberra’s season ended on Sunday, and Ricky Stuart used the press conference to name the one decision that cost them. Blake Austin played under him — so this is less a reaction to the presser than an explanation of it.
Why that was the worst possible moment for Ricky to face a microphone, what he’s actually like in the days afterwards, and the part outsiders never see: what happens inside a squad when a coach singles out one player. Blake’s been in those video sessions, and the honest answer is uglier than it sounds.
Plus Corey Horsburgh’s future at the Raiders, whether Canberra’s premiership window is even open yet, the Ethan Strange positional switch, and Josh Papali’i’s farewell.
