“I can’t breathe.”
Newly released bodycam footage shows a police officer handcuffing 18-year-old Henry Nowak as he lay dying from stab wounds in Southampton in December 2025.
The teenager was treated as a suspect after his killer, Vickrum Digwa, falsely claimed he had been assaulted and made racist remarks during the confrontation.
Moments after being cautioned by police, Nowak became unresponsive and later died from stab wounds.
Digwa was sentenced to life in prison for Nowak’s murder on Monday.
UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has since described the video as “harrowing,” saying the question of “how accusations of racism informed decision-making” must be addressed.
