Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is proposing consideration of tougher gun laws in the wake of the Bondi Beach attack.
This will include reviewing licences over a period of time and limiting the number of guns that licensed individuals can possess.
Albanese said Australia can be proud of former prime minister John Howard’s gun reforms that were introduced following the 1996 Port Arthur massacre, but he will empower agencies to review them.
“If we need to toughen these up, if there’s anything that we can do, I’m certainly up for it,” he said.
