‘Cannot Fail’: Australia’s NDIS Scheme To Be Overhauled | 10 News

Large-scale changes to the NDIS are imminent, as the Federal Health Minister – speaking in front of the National Press Club – reveals the scheme is rapidly becoming unsustainable.

Minister Mark Butler has revealed that eligibility to the scheme will be overhauled, which will see 160,000 fewer participants within four years. It’s understood people with lower support needs will be redirected to other programs outside of the NDIS.

The Government also plans to tackle “fraudsters” benefiting from the scheme, announcing plans to make 90% of all payments from the NDIS to go to registered providers only.
