Channel 7âs chief content officer Brook Hall told TV Tonight that the show is simply too expensive.
âWe canât fund that model, even though itâs one of my favourite shows. It rates really high, great entertainment.â
Despite this being the second year that the show hasnât aired, Brook insisted that Seven was ânot vacating that spaceâ.
The program ran consistently from 2004 to 2015. There was then a pause until 2019 and from then on, there was one season every year until 2025.
Brook added that TV, like many other industries across the country, is under immense budget pressures, and that the network is trying to be âmore sensibleâ.
