It’s been one of the most anticipated infrastructure projects in Australian history, and now Sydney’s second airport has finally opened to passengers.
The first commercial flight, from Western Sydney International Airport to the Gold Coast, took off just after 11am.
The government says the extra capacity will lead to more competition and, hopefully, lower prices for travellers.
