Menzies Research Centre Senior Fellow Nick Cater details how Teal MP Zali Steggall has “completely missed the pulse” with her support for the creation of affordable housing at the HMAS Penguin site in North Sydney.
“I think she’s completely missed the pulse here … this is a nice piece of waterfront land, I believe, that should be opened to the public for recreation and walks,” Mr Cater told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“Affordable housing … this is some of the most prime real estate in North Sydney … sure, you build affordable housing somewhere, but why not sell this off to the highest bidder for some luxury penthouse flats and then use that money to build affordable housing out in the areas where the jobs are.”
