Dezi Freeman Rants Outside Court | 10 News

A video shot in 2022 has emerged of Dezi Freeman ranting outside a Wangaratta court, as the fugitive accused of killing two police officers and wounding another remains on the run.

A major search is continuing across Victoria’s north-east with specialist police units deployed.

Freeman has a history of anti-government actions, in 2019 he tried to arrest a Victorian magistrate, in 2020 he refused a roadside drug test and compared police to Nazis in court, and in 2021 he attempted to privately prosecute then-premier Daniel Andrews.

The sovereign citizen movement he is linked to rejects the authority of governments, courts and police, and in Australia adherents have been known to challenge officials in court and during traffic stops.

Experts warn the ideology has surged since COVID, raising concerns about escalating violence.
