Dick Smith wants to cap Australia’s population at 30 million. The entrepreneur and philanthropist believes cutting net overseas migration to around 70,000 a year would ease pressure on housing, roads and infrastructure.
But experts say the plan wouldn’t solve Australia’s housing crisis and could create major workforce shortages instead.
