Australia has announced its 52-member athletics team for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, featuring powerhouse sprinter Eddie Osei-Nketia who is targeting the 100-metre record with aspirations to run as fast as 9.6 seconds or even break the world record. The squad includes experienced athletes like Jess Hull and Matt Denny, alongside an emerging generation of talent, with long jumper Brooke Buschkuehl making her return after giving birth. The team will travel to Europe in the coming weeks before a pre-games training camp in Barcelona beginning 15 July.
