Jeff Kennett, former Victorian Premier, has rejected the notion that youth offenders who are locked up will continue a life of crime when released.
77-year-old Kennett told 10 News+ that angle is “rubbish” and believes the government needs to “think about the rights of the public.”
He feels that currently there is “no leadership from the top” and bail for repeat offenders and knife crime perpetrators is not proving effective in lowering soaring crime rates across the state.
