Elon Musk’s explanation is that the cost of serving Grok Bot was “unsustainably high relative to revenue.”
The backlash points to a bigger question for the AI industry. Many of these tools are expensive to run, and companies are still working out what to charge.
The price users signed up for may not be the one that lasts. Grok users are calling it a “bait and switch”.
