Hannah Einbinder won the supporting actress in a comedy series award for the first time for her role in Hacks.
Einbinder ended her speech on stage saying: “Fuck Ice and free Palestine”. When asked about it backstage, she said: “It is my obligation as a Jewish person to distinguish Jews from the state of Israel.”
On the red carpet, Javier Bardem, who was nominated for his role in Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, also spoke about Israel’s “apartheid regime” while Hacks actor Meg Stalter carried a bag with the word “ceasefire!” attached.
