One Nation leader Pauline Hanson did not know that her party’s candidate for the state seat of Secret Harbour, 39-year-old gym owner Luke Herdegen, had earlier admitted on social media to heavy cocaine and alcohol use while living in London ten years ago. Herdegen, who closed his social media accounts to keep his family out of the media spotlight, said he first shared his story to encourage others.
Despite the revelation, Herdegen is aiming to win One Nation’s first lower house seat in the WA parliament, backed by strong party momentum following recent electoral gains in South Australia and New South Wales.
