Former Labor MP Michael Danby says the hijacked flydubai flight headed to Tel Aviv was “almost certainly an imitation” of the 9/11 terror attacks that struck New York City in 2001.
“It was almost certainly a terrorist imitation of 9/11,” Mr Danby said.
“The hijacker didn’t attack the captain until two and a half hours into a three-hour flight when the plane turned from Jordan to descend to Tel Aviv.”
