Iran vows to cripple global oil supplies as Trump says US is determined to ‘finish the job’

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps has warned it is carrying out its “most intense and heaviest operation” and will unleash havoc on global oil supplies as forces attack merchant ships in the blockaded Gulf.

It has carried out attacks on tankers in Iraqi waters, and fuel storage facilities in Oman and Bahrain.

Iran has also continued to fire at Israel and its targets ‌across the Middle East on Wednesday amid strikes on Iran by the US and Israel, which the Pentagon described as its most intense yet.

Amid the ongoing attacks, US President Donald Trump said Iran is on the verge of defeat, but warned that US forces could escalate strikes to the point that the country would be “almost impossible” to rebuild.

“We don’t want to leave early, we’ve got to finish the job,” he said.
