Iran’s hijab crackdown goes digital as women fight back with tech of their own

Three years ago, mandatory hijab laws sparked nationwide protests in Iran following the death in custody of Mahsa Jina Amini.

Now, the regime says it is instead using digital tools such as citizen-watch apps, drones and facial recognition to enforce its crackdown.

But women are finding new ways to resist.
