Is Antarctica in crisis?

Rising temperatures and sea ice loss in Antarctica have scientists raising alarm bells.

Since the beginning of September, temperatures in the atmosphere above Antarctica have soared by over 35°C.

Coupled with record lows in sea ice cover over the last decade, scientists say this could be a sign that Antarctic weather patterns have shifted permanently – and the knock on effects could be catastrophic.
