US President Donald Trump has stepped up threats of withdrawing from NATO if European nations do not assist in securing the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump said NATO had failed to meet expectations during the war on Iran, branding the organisation a “paper tiger”. He noted that although the US sought assistance from NATO member countries such as France, he claimed their contributions were minimal.
