The Israeli Air Force on Wednesday received its first Boeing KC-46 ‘Gideon’ refuelling aircraft from the United States. It is the first of six KC-46 planes purchased by Israel’s Defence Ministry and is expected to significantly strengthen the country’s long-range strike capability, according to the IDF. The multi-role aircraft enables mid-air refuelling for fighter jets and other military aircraft, while also supporting transport operations. The delivery comes amid heightened regional tensions and the ongoing conflict involving Iran.
