Thousands of protesters took to the streets across Israel, blocking highways and demonstrating outside ministers’ homes as part of an organised day of action demanding the government reach a deal for the release of hostages still held in Gaza.
A survey conducted by the AGAM LABS research institute found a majority of Israelis support a hostage deal and an end to the war. While polling by the Israel Democracy Institute found 79 per cent of Jewish Israelis said they were “not troubled” or “not so troubled” by reports of famine and suffering in Gaza.
