Labor’s housing reality bites as auction clearances crash to five-year lows

The housing correction that has occurred since the budget was announced by the Labor government continues as the home auction clearance rate sinks further again.

The national clearance rate dropped from 54.5 per cent last week to 51 per cent.

That’s in comparison to the figure of 60.7 per cent at the same time last year.

Some state markets fared better than others, but Brisbane’s clearance rate of 31.9 per cent was the lowest in five years.
