Lebanon deputy PM tells ABC ceasefire ‘not holding’, Israel given ‘free rein’ | ABC NEWS

Lebanon’s deputy prime minister Tarek Mitri says the ceasefire in his country is not holding because the United States has effectively given Israel free rein to launch bombing campaigns “whenever they deem necessary”. Mitri says Israeli strikes appear to be concentrated to southern and eastern Lebanon and not Beirut, so there is some reprieve for densely populated civilian areas.
An initial 10-day ceasefire announced by US President Donald Trump earlier this month has been extended by another three weeks.
