Iran has conveyed a seven-day plan to the United States that could restore normal shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on September 25. Araqchi said the proposal was delivered through Qatar and that the timeline would begin once Washington accepts it. Under the plan, the U.S. could take the required actions within four or five days, allowing the Strait of Hormuz to reopen on day six, followed by negotiations on a final deal on day seven. The proposal comes amid continued tensions over the strategic waterway and Iran-U.S. negotiations.
