U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar said she will not be deterred by “fear and intimidation” after a man sprayed her with a foul-smelling liquid during a town hall in Minneapolis. She criticised President Donald Trump’s rhetoric for fuelling hostility and said the attacker was angry over deportation policies, stressing constitutional protections. Police arrested the suspect on assault charges as officials noted a sharp rise in threats against lawmakers.
