Reuters, citing three Iranian sources familiar with the discussions, reported that China urged Tehran to prevent the conflict from spreading across vital energy and trade routes. Riyadh’s appeal reflects concern that instability around the Red Sea chokepoint could endanger Saudi oil exports and commercial traffic. Tehran reportedly told Beijing that lasting regional stability depends on ending the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran. China has not confirmed the private discussions, but said it opposes further escalation and supports resolving differences through dialogue and negotiation.
