A magnitude 5.6 earthquake has hit inland from Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
Michelle Salmon, a seismologist at Geoscience Australia, said this is the largest earthquake on land in the past 50 years. It is also the biggest quake in Queensland since a magnitude 5.8 earthquake occurred off the coast of Bowen in 2016.
