Shares of Lyft ended the week up over 20% after the rideshare company announced a deal with Waymo to bring robotaxis to Nashville next year.
Waymo has partnered with Uber for several years, but this is its first commercial partnership with Lyft.
Lyft, in a unique aspect of the deal, “will provide end-to-end fleet management services including vehicle readiness and maintenance, infrastructure, and depot operations in Nashville,” for the Waymo fleet, the companies said in a joint statement on Wednesday.
