US Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene — once among President Donald Trump’s most loyal allies — pushed back after Trump called her a “traitor” amid their public feud last week over the release of files related to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Greene was one of four Republicans who backed a discharge petition intended to force a floor vote on the bill, which has now passed the Republican-controlled Congress with near unanimity.
“I was called a traitor by a man I fought for five — actually, six — years, and to whom I gave my loyalty for free,” Greene said before the vote, referring to Trump. “Let me tell you what a traitor is: a traitor is an American who serves foreign countries and themselves.”
