NASA’s latest moon mission is being delayed after a rehearsal launch failed at the last minute.
Artemis II was set to send four astronauts to the moon and back this week, but a fuel leak means the trip now won’t occur until March at the earliest.
NASA had run a countdown dress rehearsal ahead of a possible launch, but while filling up the rocket with two million litres of highly explosive hydrogen, sensors twice detected a leak from the connection between the fuel hose and the rocket, forcing a pause.
Later, after the issue was believed to have been fixed, with just over five minutes left on the countdown, the leak again exceeded safety limits which prompted NASA to delay its mission.
