One Nation MP Barnaby Joyce says the burqa is not “conducive” for Australian children at school.
“We’re talking about the burqa, we’re not talking about the hijab,” Mr Joyce told News24.
“Many women’s groups also have big issues with it.
“There’s nothing in the Quran which says you’ve got to wear a burqa, so don’t even believe that we’re imposing on people’s religious freedoms on this.”
