Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff has accused US President Donald Trump of breaking his promise of peace, delivering a fiery speech at a Georgia rally alongside former President Barack Obama. Ossoff questioned the administration’s justification for the Iran war, highlighting the contrast between earlier claims that Iran’s nuclear programme had been obliterated and later warnings of an imminent threat. He also challenged Trump’s repeated declarations of victory and predictions that the conflict was nearing its end, arguing that eight months of war had failed to achieve its stated objectives. The Iran conflict remains a major issue ahead of the US midterm elections.
