Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is expected to receive the Global Citizen Award later this year.
The award is presented by the US-based think tank the Atlantic Council, which has cited Mr Albanese’s leadership of Australia and his support for strengthening the AUKUS partnership.
He is scheduled to receive the award during the UN General Assembly high-level week in New York in September.
Previous recipients of the award include French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
