Ukraine’s Bars jet-powered drone is undergoing continuous upgrades, with its developer reporting a range of up to 1,000 km and payload capacity of up to 60 kg—up from earlier reported figures of 700 km and 22.5 kg. The modular platform has DeepStrike, MiddleStrike and FrontStrike configurations and has undergone more than 40 development iterations since its first prototype. The programme comes as Ukraine races to counter Russia’s faster jet-powered UAVs, which have intensified pressure on conventional air-defence systems and low-cost interceptor drones.
