During an appearance on BBC Radio 4’s Today show, the Queen revealed that she had “sort of forgotten about” the assault carried out by “someone [she] didn’t know”.
The 78-year-old recalled, “I was reading my book, and this boy – man – attacked me, and I did fight back.”
“I remember getting off the train and my mother looking at me and saying, ‘Why is your hair standing on end, and why is a button missing from your coat?’”
Camilla said that she was “so furious about it”, and that the emotions had been “lurking for many years.”
