The wildlife warrior admitted thereâs been certain times in his life when heâs been able to âembraceâ his grief, and said âone of those moments was when [Bindi] got married.â
Speaking on the All There Is With Anderson Cooper podcast, he said, âIsnât it crazy how that pain can feel, it sounds so weird, but it can feel so good when youâre actually embracing it. When youâre letting it kinda hit ya. Not detrimentally, but youâre letting it in and youâre feeling it. There have been times in my life where thereâs like certain moments that just, it just hits you and you just, like, oof.â
The 22-year-old revealed that his sister âalways planned onâ Steve walking her down the aisle on her wedding day, and Robert experienced some complex emotions when he stepped into the role.
He said, âThereâs this weird sort of imposter syndrome. I almost felt a responsibility. It was like this is what dad was supposed to be doing. So I gotta make the most of it. I gotta do this for him. I need to enjoy this for him.â
Robert added, âI remember walking her down the aisle and that night just being like⌠I dumped so much emotion. I was just sitting in my backyard on the ground, just like dumping so much emotion.â
