Saudi Arabia is seeking additional air-defence support as Houthi attacks put growing pressure on the kingdom’s missile interceptor stocks and critical infrastructure. Regional officials cited by the Associated Press say Riyadh has asked France, Britain, Pakistan and Egypt to deploy air-defence support against missiles and drones from the Houthis and other Iran-backed groups. The US is providing intelligence and targeting support but has so far stopped short of direct military intervention against the Houthis. As the offensive intensifies across Saudi Arabia and threatens oil and shipping routes, questions are growing over how much military support Riyadh can expect from its allies.
