Yemen’s Houthis have claimed responsibility for a ballistic missile and drone attack targeting Saudi Aramco facilities in Riyadh, saying the operation was carried out in retaliation for Saudi strikes on Sana’a and other parts of Yemen. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree claimed the operation achieved its objectives and caused fires at the targeted sites. A large plume of smoke and fire was seen near an Aramco facility in Riyadh, but Saudi authorities and Aramco had not immediately confirmed that the fire was caused by a Houthi attack. The claim comes amid rapidly escalating Saudi-Houthi hostilities, with Riyadh preparing a major counteroffensive aimed at pushing back Houthi forces and regaining control around the strategic Bab Al-Mandeb.
