Sky News contributor Sophie Elsworth claims UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is in an “awful lot of trouble” over his appointment of Peter Mandelson as ambassador to the US despite his previous friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.
“A huge amount of trouble. The government here in the UK is in crisis,” she told Sky News Australia.
“Sir Keir Starmer’s leadership and prime ministership is on the line over this.
“His job is on the line.”
This comes after revelations came to light about Mr Mandelson’s friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, which resulted in his sacking and resignation.
