A night of fighting crime in California has ended with a very Australian twist, with officers from the Santa Cruz County sheriff’s office filmed chasing an emu through the city’s streets.
Officials in pursuit of the big flightless bird tried to lead the two-legged friend away from the road with treats after it had run away from its owner.
An unexpected cardio workout for sheriffs, the owner quickly arriving on scene and corralling the feathery fugitive with no injuries to humans or birds.
