Somalia facing renewed hunger crisis as aid funding plummets

Somalia is faced with another devastating hunger crisis, as drought, conflict and sweeping aid cuts have left millions struggling to find enough to eat.

Funding for programmes treating acute malnutrition has fallen by more than 80 per cent, with the United States providing no money this year.

The United Nations estimates around 6.5 million people face crisis-level hunger, while 1.8 million children are at risk of severe malnutrition.
