A survey of teenagers has found many still believe there is significant pressure on boys to act tough, strong and heterosexual.
The Adolescent Man Box Study from Jesuit Social Services asked 1,400 young Australians about their perception of masculinity.
The survey posed questions about attitudes to women, sexuality, masculine ideas and violence.
